Market Ready? Are We?

I was lately thinking about all the money that is infused into building a software product. How many more drops of sweat, sips of coffee and clicks of the mouse does it take to finally make it market ready.

The sad part is that this is the last mile that many products don’t see or for that matter even care to tread. Either funds are exhausted or the market dynamics have changed. In short the money spent in building is lost because you don’t have the money needed to be ready for the market.

What could be a smart way to see that a project will succeed, I am not talking about multi-million projects but the everyday software projects that have cost a few thousands and could run for a million if done well and if they are ready when the market calls? Or in other words, if they have been build to heed to the Market’s call.

When does the product owner get sleepless thinking about a customer knocking on the door and asking are you ready to sell me the app? and he is totally lost

I am thinking and and thinking and asking myself, is it all about predicting or just about being informative and making smart choices I am sure we will explore this more ….
